The Voice

The show was on a couple nights ago and I watched the first episode on hulu.

I liked watching it.

The show has people sing for coaches (four really talented and successful performers) who had their backs to the singers just listening to the voice.

They could decide whether to turn to see the singer or not.

If they turned, it was supposed to mean they liked what they heard enough to work with you on coaching you.

Well, the show could have been even better if the coaches couldn't see each other. I think they had influence on each other from seeing each others reactions.

I enjoyed it though.

My Father

My father passed away last night.

My mom, brother and I were with him.

He was home.

Okay, well, Rik is amazing.

Had guitar instruction with him yesterday and he is scholarly about such a wide range of things.
A phi-lo-losopher of life and consciousness (as am I but he is up a level or two from me).

Your brain isn't just in your head. It extends to your fingertips and beyond. The synapses, the muscle memories, the expression of self. He stated it so beautifully.

Plus, he showed me a totally smooth, easy, clean way to change guitar strings. Oh....so simple and elegant.

I want to spread the word (or words).

Oh....and the Seeing Eye for the Blind school was training people/dogs on the streets and sidewalks how to work together. Lots of teams out in full force. Very cool to watch in person as I put money in the meter for parking.

Long delay in posting.

Been too interested in keeping the Jimi Hendrix quote and alas....

I'm over it.

Since the last post I have had another house concert. Sean Brooke Feeney.....super good show.

I have performed with a new guitarist at an Art Gallery. Some cover songs.

Have started taking guitar instruction from a famed pro Rik Elswit. I want to improve my rhythm guitar skills and am game to work methodically to do so. Thanks Rik. Power chords and picking patterns.....here I come.

I used to live in a room full of mirrors; all I could see was me. I take my spirit and I crash my mirrors, now the whole world is here for me to see.

I hosted my second House Concert

Last week, I hosted Laurie Lewis and the Right Hands for a concert.

There were about 45 attendees and it was really good. The music was sharp as a tack and amazing.

Didn't get any pictures except for this sad little side, rear view someone got from the hallway...
